Another excellent 70s ELO album, though I slightly prefer the two albums which preceded this. Nonetheless, it still has magical moments, like the amazing "Tightrope" and "So Fine".

If I ever wanted to get a person hooked on ELO the two albums I would ever recommend are Out of The Blue and A New World Record. This album has a great mix of pop songs and songs that just make you sad. Telephone Line and Shangri La are relaxing and lovely, the whole atmosphere of the album is superb

A lot of bands have been called "Beatles-esque" since their demise, but I can't think of any group that better fits that description than ELO. At least post-Revolver Beatles anyways. Jeff Lynne really is an underrated genius.
