Yeah what Nigel said. Repetitive riffs are his style not a lack of creativity.

So it is his style to beat riffs into the ground? What if i said that bad music was my style. I then proceeded to create an album that sounded wretched. Would it then be considered excusable and I would recieve an album rating of 4.5 from one Zizzer?

This kind of bores me. Moreso than a lot of other 2009 releases. Methinks it is in the 3.0 range.

Yeah but his style isn't bad music...

This album is pretty cool, kind of falls off near the end though

I don't find it too repetitive. From a guitar playing point of view the riffs are so friggin' awesome who cares.

Yeah, they're great riffs that usually end up being carried on in the background to what else develops in the song. I wouldn't call it beating them into the ground.

nice job on the review/getting the feature, the review itself acutally sums up my notions on this one pretty damn well, though I still got to give this one some more time to sink in, I see it with a similar rating. Pos'd

“No One Loves Me & Neither Do I” start off great, but as the same plodding riff cycles over and over again, it’s hard to stay enthused."

I guess cause I like a lot of stoner rock/doom these are some of my favorite parts.

Anyone else think Josh Homme sounds like Jack Bruce from Cream?

Why would anyone expect for even a second that the band's personality would be different than that of the lead singer & guitarist? Of course it sounds like a Josh Homme band. It is. But thanks for pointing out the obvious.
