I completely disagree that this album is similar to their previous ones. There are a lot of black metal influence that they haven't before. "These Woods Breathe Evil" is not even doom metal, but indeed very "evil" metal. Melodic choruses on "New Moon" and "Falling World" are really catchy. And Mikko's clean vocal is also much better than before.

I guarantee you this is just weak doom metal with no black metal influence. Crysis knows black metal when he hears it.

I admit that I didn't buy this because I expected it to suck. First, It's actually pretty good but I'm wondering if there's a mislabled leak floating around the internet because the copy I have does have black metal influcences in a couple of songs yet you and Wizard say there isn't any. If the version I have is the actual album I'll buy this for sure.

Interesting. The raspy screams are reminiscent of black metal but I don't think they were influenced at all by it, because it's the same style he's been using since The Morning Never Came. Other than the vocals I never really caught a moment which screamed "black metal" to me. I'll listen again to the moments alsid mentioned.

I've only listened to their last two, and I've never really payed all that much attention to them, but it seems that he uses that raspy scream much more on this album than the last two. Musically there's defintely a few places that screamed "black metal" to me.

But I think this is their worst yet...its too aggressive...I enjoy their sadder music

I think I'm enjoying this more than their last two. I never thought they did the depressing thing very well.

I haven't listened to this album but I know for a fact this band does not do black metal. Everything I've heard by them, which is their entire discography, they haven't touched that sub-genre ever. Maybe I'm wrong on this?

these guys are so boring.
I'm going to listen to Ataraxie and purge myself of this filth with a rusty screwdriver.

Maybe I'm wrong on this? I've heard their last two and would agree that they never touched black metal before, but this has black metal. I need to get on iTunes and see if this album sounds like what I have. If it does I'll definitely buy it.

Maybe I need to check this out then?

Yeah, I almost never just DL but I did for this cause I thought it would suck and now I don't even know if I have the right album (but if I do have the right album then it's getting bought on iTunes).

Usually when I find albums by these guys, they are expensive as fuck. Might download this one.

If I found a STW album for more than 12 bucks I'd go shoot a cow with a spear gun.

$26.99 for most of their stuff in Canada and our dollar is almost parity with yours.
