Album Rating: 4.5
I've long had the CD, but picked up the just-released vinyl repressing. Totally worth it. The original always sounded a trifle muddled to me. The vinyl sounds fantastic. And the songs--Morphine was adding some new layers to their basic stripped back sound, and it all pays off. Deep and dark, an album for the nighttime. Akin to shaking off the stale cig smoke and fuzzy burn of many drinks, for something existential, felt more than expressed, so let's let Morphine give it some images and phrases to burn in your brain, like afterglows on a plasma TV.
