Weiland is an amazing songwriter when he's on his game, and the Slash-Kushner team on this album is fucking awesome to listen to. Slash had a lot of his absolute best work in VR, haters can kill themselves. It's rock music and it's fun to listen to, all it needs.

It is some sort of guilty pleasure. Weiland is really on his A-game, probably his best album as a vocalist. One of the few new classic rock efforts who were not bad after all. All those things make it hard to stay objective. The songs are all really catchy and have this certain style, which I appreciate.

Rock N'Roll as it should be!

Fall To Pieces, Set Me Free, and Slither are worthy singles. I also like Sucker Train Blues, Big Machine, and You Got No Right.

Surrender sounds exactly like a pop punk song except with non pop punk vocals.

There are some good parts but the majority of the album is pretty bland.

Am I an abomination for giving this a 4.5/5?

It's certainly not a 4.5 but it's decent.

It's funny, I had the censored CD (I guess) and hearing all these 'fuck's and 'shit's is new to me. My family loved this album and we listened to it alot on some long car rides through Texas

"Sucker Train Blues" and "Dirty Little Thing" sound like the exact same song. Seriously the second song sounds like a remix of the first or something....did they not notice this?
