it's less melodic and more abrasive than their earlier stuff, but i love that vibe - it's got a real visceral grit and comparative lack of melodrama to it that TDAG and deja don't have which makes it easier for me to connect with on a emotional level. also the production is fantastic and it's a concise, tightly structured record

it sure as hell is pretty annoying at times though ^ devil and god shits all over this imo. limousine, you won't know, etc., are among their best and most intense songs, and i just don't feel it half as much here. i still think at the bottom is superb though, and a few others are pretty great
