Yeah I know, his bass playing is awesome. I was referring to Nero's comment about him being the band's best vocalist.

His vocals are perfect in Starless but in terms of vocal talent he's not even close to Lake imo.

Lake is a fine vocalist but Wetton is more unique, so it goes to him. Starless is something else.

Apart from on Starless (he's amazing on that song) Wetton just seems like no more than an adequate vocalist to me. I like his voice and it is pretty unique but his singing certainly isn't his strongest point imo.

Yeah he sounds great on both of those (not amazing but great). This album is easily his best vocal performance imo. It's just that overall I wouldn't say he's a particularly strong singer, at least not technically (and especially not live from what I've heard), unlike Lake who is one of my favourite prog vocalists.
