idk Dowsing Anemone has sparse parts but I see it as the last of that classic Maudlin sound that Choirs still had going (but in a new way), and that wouldn't come back until Hubardo. BLD was a few years after Choirs and Dowsing, with a new line-up and absence of any metal or real coherent song structures that had existed before.

coherence was still present on BLD, but in a more fusion-esque form
although, the latter end of Dowsing all but abandoned coherent structures in favor of avant-garde abstract song structures that at times meandered longer than necessary

although I will say the KD discussion, whether it be on a KD thread or a DS thread, is quite welcome
there are some similarities between the two

The second half of Amaranth the Peddler is like a preview for BLD, but other than that idk, I mean those last 13 minutes of Limpid are something else, it's just that same thing repeated the whole time and it's completely pointless imo but I know fans claim to love it

I don't mind it when I listen to it, but it definitely is a bit drawn out at times.

small metal gods is okay... love the manafon artwork. but this record sucked so bad he quit the business. where do you go from this dirge? you don't. you retire and start playing golf with mark hollis & bill bruford. but when you think about it this whole scene kind of collapsed on itself. fripp is doing a shit nostalgia gig with that jakko stick in the mud guy. aka crim-ligh.t he needs to take up golf too
I still go back to the magic of the 80's stuff. bill nelson's finger play on 'before the bullfight' or sakamoto's brilliance on 'let the happiness in' will always be the pinnacle. he should have quit with nine horses while his reputation was still intact
