The hype killed it for me, what I got was nothin more than an average album that sounds like their previous releases.

I had never really heard The Used up until a couple months ago give or take a few songs. But I like this album. Their older stuff is pretty good too.

First listen was iffy, but it grew on me. It's got some of their best stuff (and far and away their best ballad for sure).

The album can feel awkward sometimes though, I hear subtle vocal distortion in songs like "meant too die" at parts that feels out of place. But lyrically the band holds itself together though the lyrics arn't as dark as they usually are (think "slit your own throat"). Still the album holds it together. My biggest complaint is that "On the Cross" doesn't keep that same rhythm from the beginning of the song together for the whole song, its really catchy and leaves me wanting more.
