This was my first Insomnium album, years ago. Needless to say, I don't regret anything.

I was jamming this yesterday.
This album reminds me of a lot of things...

Reminds me of greatness.

I think I prefer Above the Weeping World, Winter's Gate and their debut by a slight margin but yeah this album is astonishing too, been jamming it frequently tbh.
It was also the first album I heard by these Insomnium guys btw. Where the Last Wave Broke, The Harrowing Years and Against the Stream are awesome.

The Lay of Autumn is among the best melodeath songs imo. Very underrated track.

I feel like it doesn't really matter what album of these guys you're listening to

Album Rating: 3.3
I disagree. First, do you like the old or new style more? Second, are you listening to Winter's Gate or something else? ;)

Winter's Gate needs to be checked out. After that I am not sure if the rest is worth it, if it's basically. A rehash of the same formula. I like the old style and I like shadow of the sun though. Feel good death

You definitely need to hear Winters Gate if you haven't. To me, it's the pinnacle of their sound. After that, you're kind of right. All the other newer albums have basically been very similar.
