Redd i just fail to see how you could rate From First To Last's self titled higher than this. It just beggars belief.

This argument might be getting redundant.

well not really, i disagreed with the fact such a low rating was given and for the reasons given in the post i quoted. I felt it demonstrated obvious bias but i guess you can't win em all.

I appreciate the detailed answer to my concerns regarding vocalists. Different strokes for different folks. ;)

Lord, so much crying over a negative review. Hell I love the band, but I'm not a fanboy elitist. I think this review sheds light on the very shortsighted world of sputnik.

Get ready.........not everyone likes the same music.

Let that colossal mind fuck sink in. Fun review to read, even more to read the remarks that ensued.

He doesn't have to like the music. No one gives two shits if he doesn't like the music, believe me. This "review" looks more like a poorly coordinated forum rant then something we're supposed to take seriously.

The review boils down to 3 things:

- Repetitive

- Mediocre Vocals

- Copying From Other Bands

Considering how this album has progressed from Messengers, I'm not so sure calling it repetitive is really justified. On it's own merit however, maybe it is. To me that's his strongest point as the biggest pitfall of metalcore is repetition. Vocals are entirely subjective however. If he hates them with a fiery passion like he does, he has every right to say it, but we have every right to disagree. As far as copying from other bands... it's a small and relatively stagnant genre, I personally don't hear anything too familiar and I listen to Misery Signals. Maybe a comparable opening or two, but once the vocals come in I see no significant similarities.

All of this combined I'd say, considering the positives of this album as well (the fact it's undoubtedly a step in the right direction, the drumming is superb as always, the guitars are as technical as ever), a 2 is pretty harsh and probably embellished to take attention away from the other reviews he personally feels are too nice to ABR. That embellishment I think takes a bit of credibility away, and thus the problem with the review as a whole.

its sole purpose was to offer a different viewpoint on the album then the only one that had been put forth at the time.

and here was your first comment following this review:

This is me balancing out the 5/5 storm that should appear as soon as fanboys realize they can rate this.

a purpose poorly justified through a want for "balance"

you're such a fucking meathead. i never mentioned you pleading for attention

you have constantly stated that this review was simply "written to offer my viewpoints on this album" yet you sprinkle bullshit comments like the one i quoted above which completely contradict your credibility. whether you're "joking" or not it still makes you look like an entirely subjective reviewer as opposed to a decent objective one, which is why people here tend not to listen to the river of shit pouring from your mouth.

By my count I've had generally positive feedback for all of my reviews barring this and one other.

i wasn't referring to your other reviews, as i've never read them. i'm here discussing this review. several people have quoted comments you've made and stated why they feel this review was half-heartedly thrown together just to give the album its share of dislike.

you seem to counter each of these people with the fact that you're just joking or being sarcastic or they're reading too deeply in to this blah blah.

if your comments in this thread are being misconstrued as often as they are, i think it's pretty easy to see why your credibility gets questioned or why the review seems to lack weight. there is also the oft-remarked issue of a large amount of grammatical errors which didn't help you out very much.
