It's a very good album, it just takes a couple of listens to get recognized to it.

I'm not so sure why people compare BOO to The Faceless a lot. They really have pretty different styles and the way of writing music.

Tbh it doesn't really matter what you think of them, generic. Your review's really one sided, and to dig No time to Suck over a Higher place just puts a big red flag out there.
These guys are awesome live, and definitely associate with the kids in the pit. A good show, and some great music there.
And i don't get the Faceless connection either. last I checked, Born of Osiris doesn't touch a Dorian scale :P.

I think rating this album a 5 puts up a larger red flag, than barely rating a Suicide Silence album higher.

I get where you're coming from. I still like the band but I understand what you mean. Though it is hard to not sound generic when there is a zillion other bands ripping each other off.

Wow terrible review, I agree that Born of Osiris is a love/ hate band but even if you didn't enjoy it it's obvious that the group is incredibly unique.

I definitely can't agree with you guys putting this album all the way up at a "Classic" level with those 5.0s. It's a great album, especially in comparison to the other acts in this scene, but it's no classic.
However, I do agree with not getting the comparisons to The Faceless. The Faceless is pure, unadulterated technical death metal. A terrific tech death band, at that. The only similarity lies in the use of keys. I would definitely have to classify Born Of Osiris as progressive death/metalcore (although, they are quite technical at times).

"LOL. ^This is what I'm talking about idiots who have little to no reading comprehension." Now instead of insulting your ridiculous music taste rating deathcore juggernauts Suicide Silence and JFAC higher than the most original CD in metal this year I pointed out you failed to mention that the CD is unique or standout in any way. I rate the album a 5 because it fits my personal tastes perfectly, its super techy melodic metal in which you can listen to one 2:00 song and it'll feel like 5:00 they jammed so much goodness in there. The structure is ripped on so much but you have to understand it's completely original. Fans of the genre should start embracing progression, even if this direction isn't your exact style.

lol at the kids giving this a 5

Still haven't got this yet, but after listening to their myspace songs, I have serious doubts that this is a 5
