(Take These) Chains is such a great song. I love the intro and the quite heavy "help me, I'm begging you please" moment really gives the song a fantastic start

I agree, I used to think it was one of the weaker songs, but it's incredibly catchy and all the guitar flourishes are really fun. Rob doesn't do anything exceptional, but he is appropriately restrained and convincing imo

Album's a mixed bag.

Now I prefer Defenders.

A shame "Devil's Child" isn't much of a closer. Okay song, but falls short in that realm.

Did some going back, but I'm finished with this one for now.

A note: need to relisten soon so my current view is clear on it. Particularly, make sure
I know where I stand on "(Take These) Chains".

I quite like Devil's Child, but it sounds so much like Boris Johnson-era AC/DC it's not funny. If you stuck that track in the middle of For Those About To Rock like 95% of people wouldn't bat an eye

"Album's a mixed bag."

Every single Priest album is a mixed bag (except Painkiller). They're notorious for it. The top songs are always classic enough that it makes up and then some for the weaker songs.
