i can see that. it feels a little tame for my tastes but bedlam was definitely a bit much for me also so idk. they both have their moments though, namely goliath and cotopaxi.

no joke. it's hard to get through such dense arrangements for 75+ minutes. but the playing is tighter than any other album and the afro grooves are definitely fucking awesome. sometimes nothing feels quite as good as jamming to bedlam, that's all i'm saying. give it a few more listens.

i mean obvi de-loused shits all over this but idk even though for the 'pop' album theyve tried to create its kinda overproduced, there are some really stellar moments on here. not enough though. Im starting to see the hate that the band sometimes gets for being sloppy and ridiculous but when they do it well its just fucking fun.
