but the highlight here is easily the back end of Tuscany......flawless piece of music, musicianship wise

Great vocals but the lyrics are such balls that it's hard to get emotionally invested.

The subject matter is just so...ugh. Count of Tuscany has the most useless reason to exist.

thats why i said musicianship wise haha

i'm one who can overlook shitty lyrics if the instrumentation is fantastic.....and i do like his vocals, just not the lyrics

The end of Tuscany is def the best on here. So damn beautiful and emotional, crazy... A return to former glory.

This exactly. Musicianship is so good I really don't care about the lyrics at all.

I can get past shitty lyrics to a point and for certain genres, but for something that's trying to get me emotionally involved it's a bit harder to overlook imo

understood, but i enjoy the other elements of that section to a great extent......James can be singing 'Artuma has a small penis' over and over and i would still enjoy it

Haha nice one, same here :]

It def helps if the performance and presentation of shitty lyrics is as great and passionate as on here.

i've said this before, mostly on porcupine tree threads, but in genres like this where there is little emphasis on lyrics they should still at least be decent enough to be easily ignored. if they aren't, like on count of tuscany, they highly detract from the overall listening experience, at least for me

The vocals are so sparse anyway, especially since most of the songs are long as fuck. That aspect never bothered me with this band.

To be fair, Artuma he said they would be bad lyrics. So it would be better if James sang about your huge cock - it was a compliment, you just had to use your imitation game skills to unlock that puzzle
