It's not bad by any means, just possibly my least favorite thing he's done besides that thing he did with Thomas Erak (which was a big let down). But, this is only one song so far, I'll wait for the EP or LP so see how it flows and congeals to get a better understanding of it.

powder to the people is the only track I like from this, this album is bleh and seeing it played live only proved further that the songs on this just consistently fail in their composition. I'm surprised more people don't complain about mess being gone, there being almost no screaming, and will being shit at screaming. most people i've met irl that like this enjoy it because it has almost no screaming and it's more bland and palatable and screaming scares them. still way better than the shit they are doing now

how is this a 5 tho my man? this is the inversion of everything that DGD is to me. no mess, no craig, bright colorful songs, relatively boring guitars/riffs. I love the self-titled though that one is a 5 to me.

but i'm really digging this Royal Coda track. it feels similar to Stolas' last album but sounds much better cause Kurt's a god.

Royal Coda track has fantastic balance between that weedly swancore stuff and just straightforward alt rock. I have pretty big expectations for that project.

of course my opinion is more nuanced than that, this is one of my fav bands. They have different problems now than they had when this came out. I think the band was doing cooler stuff with their song writing and energy on this album, it has some great qualities. I'm not a fan of kurt on this, but I do love kurt on the self-titled. I think Self-Trepanation is possibly their worst song. I hate the way tilian sings and I find there to be very little to enjoy for me in general with the new stuff, so this is still better.
