I loathe this band. I truly cannot stomach Billie Joe's voice. I can only imagine how bad this is if even their fans hate it.

I like this as much as American Idiot. Story might not be quite as compelling, but the music is even stronger and I didn't notice any problems with the singing. Instead of American Idiot slightly modified, I found a great mix of new and old Green Day.

Sure. At the end of the day Green Day are one of the most popular Punk bands on the planet. Whether that means they've sold out is hard to tell, but they must be doing something right to be so popular. The mainstream are enjoying their music and I don't begrudge them their success. Good music is good music, regardless of if you think they've sold out. If you enjoy the music then listen to it and screw anyone who criticises you for it. It is the ability to choose than makes us human, just watch the Matrix.

The whole "It sells, so it must be good" argument is really crap, to be fair. ABBA have sold 20 million records (something like that).
I'll probably nab this off one of my friends. I heard it at her house and at HMV and it sounded a decent listen. I doubt it'll be anything higher than a 3-3.5

See when_darkness_falls i don't dislike this album because the band are popular and achieved commercial success it's more that this album sucks
The old they must be doing something right because they're popular argument is terrible because plenty of awful artists are popular
