Just preordered the vinyl. Might have moved up to my top 3 in the past few months which I never expected since it was my least favorite for almost a decade.

Cattail Down into The King Beetle On A Coconut Estate into Allah, Allah, Allah is one of my favorite three song runs and definitely one of the best song runs to end any album. One into another they fit so perfectly thematically and tonally, it's just so perfect.
"You don't know where you came from, you don't know where you're going.
You think you're you, but you don't know who you are, you're not you...
you're Everyone Else."
"We sent for the Great Light and you bring us this?
We didn't ask what it seems like, we asked what it IS!"
"In everyone we meet
Allah, Allah, Allah!
In everyone we meet"

I don't know what inspired this thought but I feel like this era of mwY would do a killer cover of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

I hate the prod on this album, it's so much quieter than their other albums

Was already thinking, “Man, these guys really leaned into the folk songwriting ethos—the repeitition/loopiness, the constant return to a melodic home base—on this album!” before hitting the song that exemplifies that principle more than any other, the closer. Meh album. The second song is good but even that
