yeah and it's kinda one of those messy discogs where there's a core "studio album" run, but also a tonne of overlapping experimental projects and collabs that blur the line on what you actually need to check or not.

Oh how could I forget Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, which is if C93 had slightly more metal in it

Sol invictus is similar thematically but tibet is more poetic

I meant more in the sound... like the sound here almost sounds like something that could have been made hundreds of years ago in like medieval times or something if you know what I mean...? or at least that's a vibe it evokes for me

but yeah I'll have to check them, looks like they have a lot and none of which I've heard

Nature and Organisation are probably worth checking if you like this. That's Michael Cashmore's project; he's the guitarist for this period of C93 and he's indispensable to the sound. By that same extention Death In June are also worth a peep since they were a major impetus for Tibet adopting the neofolk elements. I'll rrc "But, What Ends When the Symbols Shatter" but bare in mind Douglas P is a notorious nazi larper so 100% get if that's a dealbreaker lmao

as mentioned Sol Invictus is also a good shout and in fact I think Tony Wakeford and Tibet were both in DI6 too. The fash warning also applies to Sol Invictus tho.

Sol Invictus & Nature and Organisation, so much to be checked from my side, thanks for the rec! As for this one, it forms such a perfect trilogy with Of Ruine... and All the Pretty..., nearly unparalleled by anyone I can think of, except for Swans maybe. I know All the Pretty... has its own trilogy, but I prefer to think if it as a continuation to this.

But even these three albums do not reach the heights of Ape for me.
