insane is lame because the subject matter feels like a lame attempt att being funny/shocking/whatever plus the beat is annoying like allright we get it he is insane you dont need to hammer it in with shrill violin stuff

he lost is creativity when he lost his fuel. i assume his fuel came being poor and working extra hard to come up and make something of himself. after he came up i guess he had nothing passionate to rap about.

that new song by skylar grey featuring Em is absolutely terrible

This staff review is very unfair. I can understand wanting to stick it to the popular artists... but your hate is better directed at Recovery.

skylar grey is part of a horde of generic women that somehow managed to wedge themselves into mainstream artists' songs...

He just keeps declining in quality on each subsequent album.

album is much better than I remember. If you can swallow the concept, silly accent and strange beats (ie don't take it too seriously) it suddenly becomes quite allright
it's better than encore

I don't at all get the hate for this album unless it's strictly in comparison to MMLP/SSLP.
Accent doesn't bother me at all, and while I think there are a few shit tracks here (We Made You, Insane, Bagpipes), I also think that this album contains Em's best post-MMLP work (besides "White America" which overshadows all the rest of Eminem Show for me), and without a doubt his best use of the Slim Shady persona since 2000 in "Stay Wide Awake". It helps that Dre produced most of this, but I don't agree with Ilu that "Must Be The Ganja" or "Old Times Sake" are weak at all (esp the former).
I really think this is a natural album from Em at this point in his career, and while a lot of people obviously have a problem with that, the backlash is what caused him to respond with easily the most forced album of his career, Recovery, which was pure trash. I cannot see how anyone can put Recovery or Encore on the same level as this.

Theres like 8 really good tracks and the rest is shit.. Production and his flow are on point but after taking 4 years to drop, this was considered disappointing.. The accent actually works really well with 3 am, Stay Wide Awake and Ganja.
He should have put Im Having a Relapse and My Darling on this too.
|
| |
sure the accent sucks but also his rhymes lack his old ingenuity half the time too
like yeah, underground flows and stuff, but the lyrics are straight up retarded

^check out the second verse to Stay Wide Awake, rhyming is excellent
some tracks suck for sure, but I agree with TMobotron that it feels like a natural album compared to recovery
|
| |
I think he started losing his mojo on Encore. Some songs like Mosh and others are excellent because he
is pissed off and has some reason to rhyme. Then you have complete shit shows like My First Single and
Just Lose It which were prime indicators of his style and ingenuity losing wind. I mean those songs
are basically all filler.
