I find it funny how people are arguing over if TMV kicks this band's ass or not. Let's be frank. This band gets a bit samey after a while, and, well... The Mars Volta has De-Loused and Frances the Mute.

I heard Sweet#hart and instantly fell in love with it. I listened to the rest of the album and found none of it was really that grasping. I'll give it another listen through but atm I don't really like the album but I'll admit they have potential.

Does anyone else prefer the second singer to the main one (the one who does the second part of the 'Vanguard' chorus, the highs in the final chorus of 'Sweet#hart', etc)?

This band gets a bit samey after a while,

I don't think so, I think there's great variance between the tracks with this.

Well, there is variance, just...idk it's impressive at first, but it just doesn't feel that great to me anymore after a while. There are some great songs in the first half, but the other half of the album is forgettable. Basically the second half doesn't measure up.

Certain parts feel like they tried too hard hard to be the mainstream Bedlam in Goliath.

It's more like TMV and Coheed than it is tfot I think. This is cool but I can't tell most of the songs apart really.

feed them too the fishes... swimmin in, swimmin in, my moat.

sickkkkk

band rules, when i first got this i gave it a 3.5 and it defs deserves a 4 - 4.5

love the prog aspect of them, the time signatures etc, and to everyone who says they sound like TMV, sort of. I think the singer is more pleasant to listen to though.

not like tFoT though.

They definitely sound a lot like the mars volta and nothing like tfot.

it really isn't at all. erak sounds fitting for fall of troy, but anywhere else he would sound like trash. this guy has decent pipes, especially in his live performances, where he actually sounds on par with album.

also they just sound different.
