Maybe it's just me, but I started listening to Closure in Moscow and The Mars Volta on literally the EXACT SAME DAY and I still have yet to hear any real similarities between the two. And, just to clarify, the only TMV album I listen to is Deloused, the one CIM is most compared to.

A Night At The Spleen is the catchiest song ever

excellent album, it gets a tad repetitive in the second half, but it's redeemed by the sheer instrumental talent by everybody. favorites are "spleen" and "kissing cousins".

Want to experience an even bigger identity crisis then listen to Children of Nova and try and differentiate the three. I
think the Nova guy actually has the best voice of the 3. His falsetto is psycho. Listen to the song 'Complexity of Light'.
Neither of them have that raw TMV passion though.

Insanely catchy, "Kissing Cousins" is a superb opener another album to get later on today.

Gonna finally go see them in August. Will be interesting since they have a whole new rhythm section.

^Nice, man. Let's keep our fingers crossed that those two can live up to their predecessors on the new album.
On another note, the chorus in Arecibo Message is so damn good.

Fantastic album, took me ages to get into the entire thing, but the review is right, there's so little filler on here - it's great.
