The Live series varies in quality. Live II, V, VI and VII are professional recordings...the rest are audience recordings. If you love Oceanic, you'll love Live V cause it's Oceanic live in its entirety and the most recent one, Live VII is from one of their last shows in 2010. There's also the Clearing The Eye DVD if you want the visual aspect of their live show. If you search YouTube you'll find some performances off of it.

sumac are honestly quite avg imo tbh fr tbf ngl itt

SGNL>05 is the companion piece to Celestial basically extra material from the studio sessions (apparently), of course it doesn't have to be listened in succession but they're in the same vain and i actually like sngl more i think

Oh Ephemeral, I was directing that towards Aiwaz not you. Sorry...should've clarified who I was responding to.

Yeah, SUMAC's a very tedious listening experience and I guess less accessible compared to Isis. I'm actually not surprised that for some here they're hard to get into...especially on What One Becomes considering what Turner was going for on that album.

I'm not even upset at them disbanding. They've cemented their legacy with five of what I think are the best albums they could've done. I'd be more upset at them continuing knowing that they felt they've reached their peak as a collective.

They ended their career at just the right time tbh. Their discography has this really nice trajectory from brutal aggression towards sublime beauty.

"Think about it this way, they could have kept going and made a "sorceress"."

I actually liked that album hahaha (the other two before it not so much), but yeah, I know what you mean.

Still my favorite Isis, but I get anyone who poses a decent argument for any of their albums, honestly. Just masterful.

Underrated yes, but personally I don't think it's as underrated as ITAOT or Celestial even.
