By just a little, but both are stunning.

this could've been just as great as the others
first 2 songs and last 2 songs are so fucking good

Yea just a tad under the lever of Oceanic and Panopticon, but Absence is amazing too and Celestial isn't too shabby either. Never a bad record from these guys.

celestial is awesome, this just lacks consistency although the mid stuff is not bad but still nowhere near the as good as the rest
|
| |
This one is my favorite. The ultimate swan song for their premature departure

progression is lacking but imo this has some of their best moments, climax of hall, that bridge on ghost key.. yada yada

yknow, in the previous albums they actually went somewhere. these just dwadle around, but you dont get anything like Weight
|
| |
Totally disagree, the songs on this just evolve a bit differently than the rest of their discography. I might agree that Weight beats everything here, though

Definitely. Weight is a song like no other, but this one being more of a progressive album, they just play out differently. I even think songs like Dulcinea and 1,000 Shards beat out a good portion of the stuff on here.
|
| |
1,000 Shards never wowed me, imo Absence is great as a whole but song-for-song this is more consistent

The song riffs hard, especially past midpoint.
|
| |
Hell yeah.
Also, Aaron Turner is a fantastic artist. Not sure if I prefer his or Jacob Bannon's work
