Pretty much.
I think they had some pretty bad fan backlash from this album when it was released, too, but I don't remember where I saw that at.

If it even is a sell-out album then it kind of fails at that considering that it still has an overload of that 90s Space Rock sound ala Failure/Hum splattered all over it.

Gotta jam this one. Have only heard the first 2 and they rip of course.

This was kind of a commercial flop/failure, wasn't it? I believe Anchor under performed as a single and then I think they got dropped or left or whatever with RCA when they were toying around with getting heavier again. Hydra put out PPB.

they got dropped cuz RCA were being idiots and weren't doing their job. they could've made it big with this sound, then again fans hated it cuz another radiohead-lite incorporating band of the early aughts.

Does this really sound that much like radiohead? I have never been much a fan of theirs, but from what I have heard of them, I don't get much of a radiohead vibe off this.

"Coldplay were the defintion of Radiohead-lite on their first three records"
I love Cplays first two albums. Not sure I have recognized them as a radiohead-ish sound either. Interesting.
I have always associated Coldplay with the band Travis. Martin has said a few times they were a big influence for them starting out.

I don't like X&Y much aside from a few songs (What If is one of my favorites of theirs). First two albums are pretty amazing and Viva La Vida is pretty great, too.

It has some of their best songs imo like White Shadows, Talk, and Twisted Logic. And there's some crap like Fix You. But I still like the album

It starts off pretty strong with the first 3 songs and then is just kind of in and out until it is done. Very uneven album, but yeah, still some quality stuff littered throughout.
