Youth Overrided is one of my favorites and they opened up with it for the benefit show in LA, I was so happy. Such a catchy song and album in general.

I am not super into Beautiful Son and Inspire, but I like everything else. The run from Seafrost to Penny Racer is great.

People seem to think they stole the main riff from it

Vocalist on this kinda sounds like the Yellowcard guy
Also yes, that one riff sounded very similar to the Radiohead riff

It does sound similar. But the song overall is different enough that I don't mind

I don't like Inspire all that much so I guess I don't really care either.

Joy Opposites and Youth Overrided are hard jams, and Inspire is awesome too. This album is better than its average makes you think.

Oh yeah, this album got shit on a bit (at least when it was released, maybe ppl warmed it to it later on) because of their major label signing and trying to make a more mainstream approach.

Joy Opposites is kinda gorgeous.
Might be my fave on the album.

Damn, every time I hear a cool bass line with this band, I get a little sad.
A lot of my favorite Cave In moments are the ones when the guitars are doing atmospheric shit and cool little leads while Caleb is just going to town on the bass.

This sure has some nice songs, but coming from Jupiter and even Tides of Tomorow this is just a bit too sugary at times for me

It's a lot different for sure

They were trying to appeal to the masses at the time. It didn't work but I still think a damn fine record came out of it.
