I hope we're talking about new Linkin Park because I don't find anything off of Hybrid Theory or Meterora to be as bland as this.

Meteora is actually a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine. I never took a liking to Hybrid Theory though.

New Linkin Park...I haven't bothered with, so I guess they must be referring to that era as I also don't feel the need to bother myself with the newer Lacuna Coil work either. I'm so l33t....just kidding. But that did come out pretty snobby.

this is as bland as new LP. Hybrid Theory still rules and Meteora is ok

That's exactly the era I'm referring to when I say "moving towards mainstream metal similar to Linkin Park’s current sound". The reason I don't compare this to LP the entire rest of the review is because the two new albums aren't very similar. They share a certain sound and production value, and possibly a few minor details but people are blowing the LP comparison way out of proportion.

The chorus to I'm Not Afraid sounds pretty much exactly the same as Somewhere I Belong.

that's already been established, but it's the exception not the rule for this album.

Wide Awake might be their best song...I need to listen to the first two records again

Tight Rope, Falling Again, and Enjoy The Silence are my favorite LC songs. I'll have to jam to Wide Awake again. The myspace listen of the album was quite off-putting.

Enjoy The Silence isn't their song, but it's a very good cover

I know, I practically worship that Depeche Mode song and album, still one of my favorite songs from Coil albeit it's a cover.

For me the best songs are "No Need To Explain" and "Soul into Hades" from the debut EP, "My Wings" from In a Reverie, "Senzafine" from the Halflife EP, "Swamped" from Comalies, and "Our Truth" from Karmacode.

The odd thing is that "Unleashed Memories" is my favorite Lacuna Coil album, but none of my favorite songs are on it.
