Weird analogy and faulty opinion.

1.5 really???

Who cares if they take ideas from Meshuggah, they are the best to do it

I've never heard these guys, but there's a band called Uneven Structure that does the Meshuggah thing really well. Their album is free.

I guess, I'll need to hear these guys.

yeah it does, i just hate their breakdowns. they go on for way too long and its just a single note, pretty damn uncreative.

@ 36: practice, practice, practice. if you don't take lessons, get some books because they'll at least give you some helpful tips. for the first few months, though, it's all about perseverance because once you get past the callouses and the fingering of chords and notes, it'll be easier to learn more

depends on what you wanna do i guess. when i started learning, i would practice for a while then play some green day songs for fun [lol] and then when i started taking lessons, my teacher would introduce me to songs that required practice. so it's up to you

The pinky is the toughest finger to work with, but anytime you CAN use it, USE it.

i don't recall specifically. but, a lot of times lowering the position of your thumb on the neck will allow you to keep your pinky in a much more powerful "grip" type position. also, you can run all of your scales using just your last three fingers as practice. your index finger will have natural strength anyway

Yeah. When you have an hour to spare, just grab your guitar, sit down to watch TV, and then just hammer-on/pull-off two frets with every finger. Index-middle, index-ring, index-pinky, you get the idea. It's a great exercise to build strength.
