I've warmed up to all his efforts from Nightingale and that took years for me to mature to that level. Thanks for the compliment.

Probably this and White Darkness. Why does this surprise you, Swano is the fucking man!

"I'm in the same boat, Crimson was a huge snooze fest."

Heart dropped out of my ass.

Took to Nightingale a lot quicker/easier than Moontower. The re-done version of Nightfall Overture
nearly made me cry, it ruined the haunting beauty of the original. Moontower has been the least
captivating of Swano's stuff for me. Certain parts of it are spectacularly beautiful (e.g. ending to
Add Reality), but other parts/songs leave me feeling a bit uncomfortable (e.g. Creating Illusions).

Good review bar the occasional sweeping statement but I appear to be in the minority concerning
them. Perhaps it is just a side effect of sitting in seminars with morons over the years.

Couldn't care less about the drum programming. The riffs, the atmosphere, the melodies/vocals... Loving this.

Love this. First line in the second paragraph sums it up nicely.

Dan has a voice that could turn a straight man gay.

Yeah. Even if the later albums are fine, I wish he would have expanded upon the gothic sound more.

Dan Swanö is a legend. The melodies the man comes up with are out of this world. This is fucking perfect.

The rich guitar tones really bring those melodies to life.

They bring just about every song to life here agreed. 90s had some of the most evocative leads, both in terms of melodies and timbre. This is a perfect example of that, and then of course Swanö's voice as the icing.

I care A LOT for this whole project. The releases following this take a little getting used to, seeing as they aren't as much in the gothic rock vein as this. Once they do Nightingale becomes one of his best projects though.
