Revisiting this band recently after giving them a couple listens a few years ago, and this review is beautiful. The first paragraph really resonates with me, even though I was the one who sought out Christian rock. My family was fairly religious, but also very progressive. I think Christian rock was junior high me trying to grapple with knowing that a lot of my religious friends had views that I thought were wrong, but I was too young to really understand or explain why. Here were these hard rocking Christians that I thought had a variety of Christianity that I could relate to. That was pretty much dashed when I attended Winterfest and was preached some ideas about homosexuality, abortion, etc. that further confused and alienated my 13-year-old self. That's when I discovered bands like Anberlin and mewithoutYou that really shaped my views on faith during high school.

Now here I am, about to graduate college, and still searching out music with Christian themes. Basically, I went on a tiny and way to personal tangent to to say that I'm really excited to add this band to my ever-growing arsenal of "Christian adjacent" bands.

I need to go back to that one. I haven’t listened to it much. I think it’s because it was so jarring compared to CNS and HoHW. New album will have both vocalists though, so that’ll be interesting. Based off the first single it kinda sounds like CNS if the original vocalist had stayed around.

Actually this new single isn’t half bad. It starts off a little rough but it was way better than whatever that last one was supposed to be
