This and Through Being Cool are absolute classics but literally everything else they've done sucks absolute dick. The vocals on the newer albums are complete horse piss

I don't know how credible the allegations are but someone on IG through empowerment.la posted that Chris sexually assaulted her friend after a show a couple years ago. There's a public post from the account your.bandsucks that gives some of the details but there isn't really a lot to go off of right now.

given the allegations came along with ample screenshots, multiple people have come forward w shit about him, and he's issued a statement, i'd say they've got more than enough credibility
in the fuckin bin they go

So just for clarity, did Conley 'befriend' this person at the age of 12 and started to abuse them after ~20 years, or was he being abusive the whole time?
|

The whole time.

Hopefully some people will be selling this on vinyl for cheap now

It's crazy how much power over people can frontmen of semi-popular bands have. Super unfortunate when such power gets into the hands of abusive people.

All of this is.

this band will be performing this album in full at the Starland in Sayreville NJ on July 22, but then I looked the band up and it seems like the singer dipped his toes in some pretty spicy water...wonder what that is all about wrt this upcoming concert

very unfortunate as these guys were one of my favorites in late-grade school and early-high school; this album & THROUGH BEING COOL got me through some angsty times. never meet your heroes.

I think this is the exact moment it all went wrong lads.
The same stretch with MCR, ‘emo’ and the dawn of the internet all off the back of nu-metal and people happily submitting to complete shite. A two-three year span of time where everything went from real to cartoon.
Fucking Saves the Bastard Day. Shite

Comparing this to anything MCR ever did is a travesty, and this/StD were never in that same vein of emo-tangent imo. THROUGH BEING COOL (and especially CAN'T SLOW DOWN) were very much part of that east coast melodic hardcore pool, a la Lifetime or Jawbreaker. MCR begun their career with that whiny self-deprecating bullshit.
