Not really, other than they come from the same alt metal/prog rock Aussie scene.

Yup. They are massively underrated.
|

I came into this thread not knowing anything. Is this a prog album?

kinda. a bit of prog and a bit of alt as well. imago is proggier and the debut is more alt metal.
all of their releases are great tho.

| |
Tabula get on this ASAP.
|
| |
If Dewey recs it, so shall I listen to it.
|
| |
first part of "worlds on fire" reminds a bit of that butterflies and hurricanes song from Muse
|
| |
listened to this a few times today, and wow a new fav. This soars
|
| |
Incredible band/album, heavily overlooked.
|
| |

the debut is like nu-metal with some prog overtones and the second one is much softer, kind of a halfway point to this
they're all good fun, I used to love them back in the day
|
| |
Imago is also pretty good, debut is alright.
This their best by a mile.
|
| |
Yeah that's my belief so far. I think Imago will grow on me. I agree with row on the debut.

I have a lot of nostalgia for shit like One Second of Insanity and Perception Twin (mainly cos the singer from Cog is on it) but that album's probably not actually great
Without Wings is massive tho
|
| |
Im new to cog but im glad i checked them recently
Its hard to pick a favorite here but top for me is Final Conversation. Wish the song (and album in general) were longer. So many great melodies.
