Listening to this currently...

If life were Metal Gear Solid, Deathrace would have put an exclamation point over my head. Too

awkward a track.

The rest is pretty solid. This Message Edited On 01.05.09

The band didn’t really mix anything up, instead, relying on the same old heavy verse to a booming clean chorus closing with a blazing solo for desert.

There is an error, and there are a few more. Good review though. I'm glad to hear this is getting an overall positive response after the disappointment that was Wolves.

But is this really better that Earth.Revolt? This Message Edited On 01.05.09

Alright, I've got to say I really don't like the lyrics of this album (too preachy and/or stupid)

but the sound is...

It's fucking addictive as hell. Well, spare the aforementioned little rapping diddy on Deathrace

which made me laugh so hard I almost thought I might lose my bladder. That's the only part that

doesn't fit in. The rest, from start to finish, is fan-friggin'-tastic.

Just... Well, never before have I been so happy that it's difficult to understand the lyrics in the

song. I don't want to understand them here.

Hm. I really agree with you about the use of the word "fuck" on this album, too. It's entirely un-

needed whenever used. While I enjoy using the word, myself, in everyday conversation, I really

don't think it has a place on this album and it sort of depreciates the message they're trying to

send out (not that I'm giving it great attention anyway, but it would diminish any message). I used

to think I was cool whenever I said "fuck" in the 8th grade, listening to my St. Anger CD, but

seriously, if they're trying to be serious about this, especially with a PETA/Vegan/Straight Edge

message they're tying to promote, that's not helping them any. It makes them look ridiculous. This Message Edited On 01.06.09

Sometimes this album gets boring, and sometimes is amazing.

Weird...

I agree Atomic. Earth Crisis is pretty good at straightedge/ vegan core thing and they can get away with it because they don't reach the douche bag levels that Deadlock reach although PETA are douche bags in general so..... As for the album though, Sabine is incredible, her vocals definitely top Wolves.

That's strange becasue Deadlock improve significantly with this album. The vocal patterns anyways, are much more versatile and stronger, especially Sabine. She never sounded this good with any other Deadlock material. They improved the ballad, the rock oriented track, and a few others. The track with Christian was dissapointing however.

Throwing in a random saxaphone solo and a random hip hop section in aggro metal is totally Balls. More bands need to not give a fuck and experiment for the hell of it. I give Deadlock my approval.

I don't know how I missed this review Balls. Really well done as usual. You certainly have your own style of reviewing.

I just wanted to comment and say how atrocious this album is. Why I waste my money on garbage like this is beyond me.

This pretty much sums up the album. Purely for the sound, I would give it like a 4 or 4.5, but the lyrics are probably around a 1 or 2 (2 would be generous). Wolves wasn't exactly a lyrical powerhouse, but I don't feel like as much of an idiot listening to it like I do with some of the songs on Manifesto. I should change my score, I'd say this doesn't deserve more than a 3 once I actually learned the lyrics lol.

If they put a little more time and effort into some meaningful, non preachy lyrics on the next album and still keep the sound, that'd pretty damn good.

On its own, that rap section on Deathrace isn't actually too bad. Trite as all hell, though it could've been worse. Sabine Scherer's vocals on this are lovely.
