An Umbrella Fallen Into Fiction is fucking brilliant. I've never heard screaming vocals used so tastefully well.

I'm really digging the Envy side of this...all three of their songs are awesome so I guess I should look into their other stuff...not really digging the Thursday side so much (not that I was expecting to really)

The Thursday side is pretty poor. They are really going nowhere as a band. Envy side is typical Envy, it's good just as you'd expect Envy to be.

yea, track 1 is a throwaway track, i actually like 2 and 4 better because i don't have to hear geoff singing out of tune, but track 5 is excellent, it's dare i say: stairway to heaven-esque with the progressive buildup and great payoffThis Message Edited On 11.09.08

The Thursday side was a nice progression. I personally love the direction they are going in. I agree they need to work on it a bit more but what they've done so far with it is pretty good in my opinion. I heard In Silence live for the first time back in July when I saw them with Hot Water Music. It's actually taken from Music From Kill The House Lights off their rarities/b-side album Kill The House Lights. It was performed really well live. This is the first time I ever heard Envy and I must say I am hooked. This has to be the best screaming I've heard. I've heard the first few tracks off A Dead Sinking Story as well. The build ups and spoken parts are great as well. Can't get enough of the drumming either. And I know everyone has said it but the artwork alone is beautiful.

I really do think this is a classic. I really loved the songs Thursday had to offer as well as the Envy side. I just got it in the mail today and can't stop listenin to it. especially the Envy side! Man I love the artwork too! It hella fits perfectly.

This is far more fantastic than this review implies. I love everything about this split.

as he climbed the dark mountain is probably one of my favorite thursday songs to date
|
| |
I personally love the post-rock duo in between the (fantastic) real songs. I'm glad they're going for this darker, moodier sound.

Envy is what made this album. Thursday kinda...meh

This shit rules so hard. I actually got the vinyl. How could I not? Envy and Thursday in one? Fuck yes!!!
|

m/ Totally just dl'd those last three Thursday songs. I'm going to have to do something with In Silence.
|

In Silence is about as powerful as any Sigur Ros material and moves me more than anything else that I can think of, at the moment.

The Thursday part is cool but has some definite filler. I like the Envy half much more

This one greatly helped Thursday craft No Devolucion. Envy's amazing here. Probably my favorite split of all-time.

Do you mean Common Existence? No Devolucion was two albums after this
