bass heavy works fucking great for Suffocation. They really do a good job highlighting the bass during the chugging moments, and Derek Boyer is a sick bassist
My biggest problem with this record is that this is the only one after Breeding the Spawn where they did not include a re-recorded track from that album

Fantastic album. Demise of a clone, deceit, title track, surgery of implement.... album is a bit underrated. I dont throw that word around often cause everything is underrated nowadays lol but this is a great record from suffo.

Will do bud I've heard they slay. It's not pierced from within so it just gets slept on a bit I guess. Still considered a solid record overall tho. 3.5 average is solid on here seems like. This is really one of those records tho its just all over the place with ppl. Alot of people really love this record and alot just ehhh its alright. That's any album but this one is really that way. You go on any other place on the internet rym, metal storm, anyplace this one gets alot of love. But here on Sputnik everyone is just all over effigy and pierced so all the other suffo records just get sort ofunderlooked. .

This is a great record but I mean, getting overlooked in their discog makes sense when they released albums as killer as effigy and pierced

Whoa this bump is a crazy coincidence. I’m currently listening to Iowa by Slipknot, which happens to use the same background lady-screaming sample that the title track on this album uses. I remember hearing that track for the first time and being like wtf…why does her scream sound so familiar?!

Album is kinda dry/flat nothing really stands out production wise. And there's nothing new here it just seems like slightly watered down less effective pierced. But I love it. First suffo I ever heard. Consistent/solid album front to back.

Its deff underrated ford. On here atleast by alot of ppl. I see ppl on here going to the self titled or some of the others and "their best post reunion album". I'm just like ummmmm this exists. Its like some folks just kind of forget this album was even made. In my mind easily their strongest 2000s. Not even close tbh.

Definitely wish their reunion material put more focus on some of the melodic aspects they poked at here...

^ can't really argue with you there. Slept on album imo. While the first few are insanely awesome classics this one gets far more overshadowed by them than it should be.
Demise of the Clone is such a banger.
