I kind of agree with the vocals thing. Tommy Roger's screams sometimes give me those "eughh" chills. But still, it wouldn't feel complete without them. :P

oh come on, on the vocals part

its unique, his range is incredible... anyone that can do metal screams (alaska), to death grunts (croakies) clean vocals (selkies) and falsettos (backwards marathon) is prty good in my book...
sure, his metal vox cant be compared to sayyy JFAC?? but i think its good ^_^

with that being said... i rate this lower than the original alaska... cause unlike Colors they made this album with vocals a big part of it

Yeah The Silent Circus is definately my favorite album, besides Colors Live that is, because it amazes me how thy can perform so perfectly, and in time the entire way through.

it sounds like papa roach, so thus it is punk influenced? huh

Yeah, because they used a punk riff, therefore their punk influenced.

Want a review comment? Hokey Dokey, here goes. You have GOT to avoid extremely generalizing statements, just like exactly what you have in the first three sentences. Remember, the review is your opinion of an album, not a notepad for you to write your thoughts about everything about music in general.
Let me be more specific. While it may be entirely possible, and it is perfectly acceptable for you to believe so, that Tool and Opeth have 'revolutionized' their respective genres, this will turn off many readers and amounts to nothing but discrediting your opinion. You see, when you say things like that, you challenge the reader's own beliefs, and many times, state something in such a manner that it actually insults the reader.

Now, before you go off saying "but they did revolutionize bla bla bla", you're missing the point. It's not that they MIGHT HAVE, or TOTALLY DID, it's that someone else will think they didn't. Just as you have the right to believe such a revolution may have occurred, so do they have the right to believe it did not. In this sense, you must NEVER force a widely assuming belief on people in your reviews. This Message Edited On 01.14.09
