They seem like the kind of band that takes a while to record too

Well actually they recorded Silent Alarm in one month and Intimacy in 4 so who knows
|
| |
Going by the facebook updates lately they've been writing and rehearsing for quite a while so yeah hopefully they bash out the recording nice and quick. It'll help if they keep the polish to a minimum

If it somehow manages to be as enthralling as this record, I'll be a very happy man!
|
| |
Hopefully they let Lissack and Tong just do their thing, these guys are at their best when those two are in the spotlight

Agreed, although the bass playing of Moakes shouldn't be underestimated.

While I loved this, I do hope the drumming goes back to how it was before. They used to play organic music like it was computerized and that was awesome. Bit redundant to actually make chunks of it so on this

I like the mix of styles here. Zephyrus has some fantastic drum programming and real live drums for example

Silent Alarm was one of the albums that got me really interested in drums

Same here, along with With Love and Squalor. After those two albums I paid much more attention to drumming in music and wanted to start drumming myself.

I dug that album a lot back then too
You should check out Another Weekend In The City if you haven't already, it's way better than A Weekend and Intimacy and more based around guitar riffs and drums
|
| |
Another Weekend rules, so many good songs that could/should have made the album. We Were Lovers, Rhododendrons, The Once and Future King all rule. Actually they all rule
