One or two of the newer albums are enjoyable. They definitely have some good songs here and there in their later years. But yeah you're pretty much right, late 80s U2 puts modern adult contemporary U2 to shame

actually, how to dismantle is pretty great. miracle drug and city of blinding lights are both really good, but other than that, contemporary U2 isn't nearly as good as their older stuff. and the new album is boring

agree. it's been a while that i listened to this tho. always liked 90s u2 a lot. pop and zooropa are mad underrated even tho pop has some real stinkers on it
