Yeah, I think American Idiot is one of their best, alongside Dookie.

It's funny, because people have been saying that they've "sold out" ever since Dookie. This Message Edited On 08.09.05

Yeah, I went on a big rant a while ago because of that mentallity. Basically I think that the rock community has forgotten what the word rock star means. It's like everyone assumes that if a band is selling albums and playing in front of a large audience their music is damaged somehow. I blame groups like the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears for making everyone who grew up in the late 90's paranoid of anything produced by a major.

I'm guilty of it to some degree but I can still respect the hell out of a band like Greenday who has consistently tried to better themselves and make albums that they want to make. I just don't see how an album that, in it's own right, could be called very orignial can be seen as nothing but a cash-grab.

I dealt with the same problems with Dookie and every other album they released after it, mostly from the punk-rock scene where money is dispised and any band that can actually feed themselves and afford a house is no longer punk. Oh except for The Ramones, Sex Pistols and Clash because they came along first.

I have to admit I'm one of those people. American Idiot was ok, but definitly not deserving the hype it got. This album is a good one, though.

this is green day's best album yet. "When I Come Around" in my opinion is the greatest song written, I listen to it everyday and I still enjoy it as much as the first time i heard it.

Really good alubm, and if you STILL dont have it, you must get it

I recently brought this (for only £3.99!) and i have to say it is a classic pop-punk album.

Greenday don't make 'em like this anymore.

This is definitely the best Green Day album. American Idiot was a lot better than I expected. I never thought Green Day would pull off a 9 minute song like Jesus of Suburbia. Mike Dirnt pulls off a nice solo in Welcome to Paradise, which is one of my favorites off the album, just because of that breakdown.

Warning was pop crap you play for your family so they can like green day. Its gotta be Nimrod, American Idiot, Dookie, Insomniac, Shenanagins, Kerplunk, 1039, then Warning.

Warning is awesome. It's more towards the style of The Kinks or The Who then say, The Ramones. But it's got it's own unique sound.

I like both albums. (Dookie and Warning)

this is the holy grail of GD albums even though its not my favorite (Insomniac) but i like this album as individual songs instead of an album if that makes sense probably their second best only to insomniac

It's musically the second best Green Day Album (Insomniac being number 1) but it's the Holy Grail of GD albums bc it's their breakthrough, and there's really no song u can skip (except the Mike Dirnt song.)

I can skip a number of these songs. I only think welcome to paradise is really worthwhile

I just can enjoy some stuff on insomniac. Though I still wouldn't give it anything over a 3/5.
