Craig is a great vocalist and I really like his sound and style, but I like the music DGD made with Travis better (that is to say that I like Happiness the most, since I hate this album)

I haven't cared about DGD for a while actually and honestly I haven't listened to them since AS came out, I only dropped into this thread to stick up for Swan because I love Happiness and his vocals on it

Agreed. Swan's vocals are so meaty and strong. I wish he would do them more often. Mess is a horrible vocalist sans Whatever I Say and Acceptance Speech (which sucked anyway so his for-once-actually-awesome-vocals are almost a waste)

Agreed, that one bit in Need Money on DBMII where Swan and Mess screamed together was literally my favourite moment in their whole discog, that needs to happen more often
Mess was good on Whatever but Craig sounded like complete shit, and I'm amazed how Acceptance Speech was ruined single-handedly by horrible production when I like everything else about it

Everything about Whatever I Say is great except for Craig. He is so off key and shit the whole album that he is unbearable to listen to. Acceptance Speech would have been better if the production wasn't mind blowingly horrible, which is weird since DBMII was so crisp, and if Tillian wasn't on vocals. He is a fine vocalist, but holy hell did they overproduce, double track the fuck out of him and he had horrible melodies.

Agreed Whatever had heaps of potential but Craig ruined. That is easily Mess at his best there, I mean he never reached the heights of "I've been doin backflips off the doorway to the cellar, man" again in their discog
I'm pretty sure all their albums had been produced by Kris Crummett except AS, which explains why. I've heard many people say Tilian is a great vocalist that the production ruined, although I haven't heard his work outside that album so I dunno.
