There's a lot of gay going on in this thread. I'm going to pop in and say my piece before you lot start making out with each other.
Review pretty much described my expectations. I like DragonForce in small doses, and the only thing I don't like about them is having to listen to all the little Guitar Hero wankers comparing every melodic metal band these days to DragonForce. Lost Horizon and Blind Guardian do not sound like DragonForce, damnit!

I nearly knocked out my cousin the other day (at a funeral no less) for rambling about how amazing these guys are on GH. Fuck, its called a 'tweaked out' studio to produce everything to death, a metronome and alot of patience.

My thing with the Dragonforce/GH connection is that if these people are loving the band because of their (perceived) chops and musicianship than there is still hope because that means they'll possibly try to branch out farther instead of being content with what is on the radio.

I've actually thought about that too, but than I realize that my cousin and his bratty little friends just latch on to any trend that falls their way (I'm not saying I don't give in to Guitar Hero once in a while ;)). I would like to hope that one of those kids actually does branch out a bit more and discovers the many wonders of heavy metal. I guess thats what big cousins are for!

Aside from this being the most digitized album ever recorded (seriously, it's fuckin' PERFECT), it's nice to see them taking baby steps to balancing their sound a little bit more. Few new elements in this one, and I love the ridiculously cheesy horns in that one song.
May review this at a later date.

oh god, those horns were horrible. Being Dragonforce and having every instrument perfectally instituted, one would think the band, who has the budget to do all of this, would at least get a better patch on their keyboard for the horns.

my friends saw them the other day and said that they were actually really tight and hit pretty much every note perfectly, so everyone's stupid opinion is derived from either word of mouth or a couple crappy youtube videos
