The awesomeness of "It's Not Safe To Swim Today" alone is enough to give this album a 3.0 rating. I love the fact that there's only one guitar. It allows the bass to actually be audible, which is a nice change of pace in deathcore. The instrumental performances are pure class.

Also, the breakdown at the end of "It's Not Safe To Swim Today" is possibly the greatest I've ever heard.

When do they release a new album? BOO's new album blowed, so i'm leaving it up to Veil of Maya to make a good melodictech death album this year.

For fans of after the burial and born of osiris, i dont like that it is short but other than that small con. its smiply amazing in lyrics and progressive style.

I've listened to "It's Not Safe To Swim Today". I've listened to "Pillars" or whatever song is 2 minutes and is just one long breakdown. I've seen them live, twice. And all I have to say is this is unimpressive. Maybe if they took out all the breakdowns and the parts that made them "core" they would be worth the listening too.

One of my all time favorite bands, Veil of maya in my opinion does dethcore the best way possible to the point where i don't even want to call it dethcore because it is so much better. Nothing is over used melodies and the brief uses of chord progressions are simply amazing (Its not Safe to swim today, Sever the voices). Honestly if you haven't listened to this album more than ten times you can not fully understand how magnificent of an album this is. Usually with me at least, i find the most satisfying albums are the ones that take a few weeks to adjust to, as strange as this sounds. But truly i hope these are the bands that keep writing and never loses it's steam because this is true art in my opinion. Anyone who complains about these breakdowns ought to be slapped over the head, nobody pulls off as good of rythmn as these guys other than Messhugah which makes sense since they are a influence. Any of you who disregard my words, trust me, i was once ignorant like you were, but just give this album some time it will really grow on you.

Seeing how their album before this was better,I don't see this as no where near a 5.The new one however, might top it the 2 songs they played off it live were really fucking awesome. I'm stoked for [id]

I love this band's name and the song "It's Not Safe To Swim Today". And I want so desperately for them to be cool. I really do. I expected deathcore with actual Cynic influences. More cool chords, different scales, I don't know.

I am disappoint. And yet, I am still listening hard, trying to like them more....

Nevermind, listened to their latest album, then this again, it all suddenly clicks. Either I suddenly realized they're good, or I listened myself into submission. Excellent.
