nervosa is perfect. anorexia has a few weak songs (namely the death and the goat).

they've always wanted total creative liberty over their music, videos, shows, etc...which is one of the reasons they recently signed to come & live, an organization that lets bands run completely off donations. it's a ministry-oriented label, so showbread is a perfect fit.
they've had troubles shipping their DVDs off for some reason...i don't remember why, but i read about it on their forums (i'm the administrator there).

not really. i mean if you don't sound like anberlin and you're on tooth and nail then you're going to get the shaft!

yeah you'll get the dvd. if a few more weeks go by and you still don't have it, contact showbread at showbreadmail@yahoo.com and josh or patrick will help you out.
as for age of reptiles, i don't care how commercial it sounds, i love it. emetophobia, age of reptiles and centipede sisters are three of their best songs.

even life kisses is pretty shitty. the band disowns that record and everything before it haha. out of the t&n releases, which one is your favorite?

i will never grow out of no sir because of the incredible amount of personal value it has to me. it's my favorite album of all time for a reason.
what'd you think of the fear of God?

ya the you can't save yourself tour was amazing. a/n translated to a live setting a lot better than i expected.

all their spiritual lyrics are pretty obvious imo. it's just that a lot of them are buried with loads of metaphors and literature references.
and the last song on tfog is actually not about God; it's about a friend of the band that passed away.

gotcha. yeah the title track from that record is pretty blatant, haha.

there's so much to that answer that i'll have to link you to their blog. the one called "the voice of a sinner" is the one you're looking for.

while you're at it, a lot of their other blog posts explain in detail their stance on various things: http://showbread.wordpress.com/

but yeah, a lot of conservative christians give showbread flack for their lyrical content, image, love of horror movies, etc. no sir got pulled off the shelves in christian bookstores because of dead by dawn, they've been kicked out of churches and youth events...it goes on.

dude i agree completely.
and as far as how they keep their faith...
people like the guys in showbread, and myself actually, have experienced God first hand. there's so much to this, and i don't know if this is a good place to talk about it, but yeah, there's definitely a huge difference between someone that follows a religion, and someone that's had an experience with the God of the universe.

Well as a "good" Christian you're supposed to see that people can live their lives as they want as long as they're not
"breaking the rules". Most Christians fail to see that, but the members of this band do, and I respect them for that.
Edit: IAmInsect has a good point too.

word. i understand and respect that. i just know from personal experiences that there's definitely forces out there that we can't see with our eyes. there's a lot more to it but if you wanna talk about it we can talk on aim or whatever.
