I completely forgot about this. I never got around to this even though i said I was going to in fucking August of last year. I'm about to try and download it right now though. Hopefully it works.

This album is what really defined this band. It was pretty much leading the genre for a while there... until Morton Veland decided that success just wasn't his cup of tea and disappeared to form Sirenia, a lousy rip-off of his own style, if that's even possible. Luckily Tristania held together for a while without him, though they changed in a direction I didn't care too much for. I'm really interested (and a bit scared) as to what their new female vocalist will bring to the band.

Thank you, about time someone shares the same enthusiasm as me for Tristania. Yeah, i'll never understand Mortens poor decision to form Sirenia. Ashes was a great albeit mellower trip for Tristania but proved they didn't need him. The suspense for a new song is killing me. I need to hear a new Tristania song soon or people will be mobbed by killer pigeons on my watch.

I totally agree with Tzidkiyahu. It just so happens that I AM Tzidkiyahu, so that might have something to do with it.

'A Sequel Of Decay' is just stunning.

Re: the amazing 'beauty and the beast' vocal dynamic: I love how confident the harsh vocals are on this, as in he's totally confident they fit the music and contrast with the 'beauty' vocals perfectly. With all the harsh vocal layering it feels like he's doing it just to go nuts and be 'beast' as hell, not trying to make some harmony stuff.

I have been on a girl vocalist kick lately, it's getting out of hand.

A friend linked me "Angina" on FB and I was blown away, will rate after I get the album.

I can honestly say that I like every single track, "Angina" is still a standout but I enjoy "Opus Relinque" just as much.
