I love Brent Smith's vocals.

Gotta be honest, this is my least favorite Shinedown

for me it has always been:

Leave a Whisper

Sound of Madness

Us and Them

Leave a Whisper is darker and more aggressive, plus tracks like Burning Bright and 45 are untouchable. But Sound of Madness is an easier, often more enjoyable listen, esp. the first half of the album

I thought Devour was awesome. Then one day Second Chance came on tv, and I was like: "Oh, here's that song I hate" and saw that it was a shinedown song, and I was all: "whaaaaaaaaatt?"

i actually hated devour more than second chance when i heard them both the first time, but the radio just massacred second chance. either way, most of the rest of the cd is awesome..

For me:

Sound of Madness

Us And Them (love the southern rock style they do here)

Leave A Whisper

And as much as I've over-heard Second Chance, it hasn't gotten old. Tbh anything from this album could be overplayed and I would still like it.

Us and Them is my favorite album from these guys even though Leave a Whisper has some killer tracks. I used to be a big fan of this band, listening now from the first time in ages.

Just listened to this again for the first time in a couple months, I still love it. Even with my expanding tastes this will probably always be a favorite.

He's really good live when i have seen them. First album still trumps this, but this is definitely better then Us and Them. or whatever their last album was called.

Hm, thinking of writing another well-written-but-still-fanboy-ish review for this.

There's not a single song I don't like on this album.
In fact, there is not even a single song I won't listen to hundreds of times.

I wish they had better solos, but the lyrical content makes up for it.

If You Only Knew gets a lot of hate for being so radio-friendly, but I think it's sung with such passion and is well composed - killer song, one of the best radio rock songs today imo

My favourite Shinedown album by a mile. Sin With a Grin, Cyanide Sweet Tooth and Call Me are all

amazing.

Meh, I stopped halfway through. It was just kind of bleh for me.

Reminded me kind of Alter Bridge, except less interesting.

I heard Devour and thought that it was pretty good.
