well I was talking about Drowning Lessons and the early Saves the Day vibes

Yeah I guess so. But the rest of this album definitely takes from shit like Ink and Dagger and Rites of Spring

Wow this album is kind of awesome? Had never jammed it before.
Definitely get a good kind of STD vibe from Drowning Lessons. Guitars are more interesting here than their later stuff and Gerard is as crazy as ever, just a little bit less catchy hooks than on Three Cheers.
Might be their best record honestly. I wish these guys had never put out Danger Days, they'd have a pretty cool legacy as one of the most enjoyable pop-punk bands to make it really big. Well I guess they still have that legacy, just to a lesser extent.

Some of the best Ink & Dagger worship to have ever been made.

I do agree that this is their best. It’s the only one of their albums I find myself going back to; Three Cheers has some great songs, but overall it feels like it’s not as aggressive as it should be, hence why I don’t like it nearly as much as Bullets. Black Parade is one of the most overrated albums ever, and I only really enjoy 4 or 5 songs on it, and Danger Days was even worse

this album should be horrible but it's actually pretty good

Had no idea Geoff Rickley produced this, or anything for that matter.

Woah, I have never taken the time to listen to this and the opener is WILD. I love this. Super raw, but whatever. This is awesome.

Not that it matters, but everything else that they had put out (including conventional weapons) was badass and then they had to disappear on a heaping pile of shit.
Glad to have them back and hopefully they make things right though!

wasn't conventional weapons after danger days though?
also this is fine but its so rough around the edges, three cheers is easily their best personally

Yeah, agreed. It's alright but doesn't hold a candle to Three Cheers.

"everything else that they had put out (including conventional weapons) was badass and then they had to disappear on a heaping pile of shit."
they went out on Conventional Weapons + Fake Your Death which is one of the best songs any band has ever ended on, lmao

Conventional Weapons was recorded prior to Danger Days ... they scrapped it and decided to record Danger Days. Then Conventional Weapons was released after their breakup.
I thought this was common knowledge ...
