Relistening to the discog to wash out the taste of Palms and gosh, Milly Michaelson is such a lovely song.

Glad you like fire art. The guitar tones on that one are amazing, especially fire breather, the arsonist and the flame deluge. Plus Water is so friggin beautiful. Daedalus is a real winner from Air though.

Water is by far my favorite EP of this project but these days the other 3 shuffle around constantly depending on my mood. Some days Fire stuns me, others Air reminds me why it was my original favorite, and even Earth occasionally impresses me more than the rest. Such a well-rounded project.

Dadealus is very good but it's maybe the second-worst song on Air. That EP is just stacked

Daedalus is their best song imo. Really fun to play on drums too.

Daedalus is a bit melodramatic

hmm adding it to my drum playlist, so far the most fun Thrice songs to drum are Anthology or Hold Fast Hope (at least for a scrub like me who can't play any of the more technical bits)

Having trouble getting into this. This is the first Thrice album thus far where that’s happened (having listened to Artist, Vheissu, Fire + Water and this).
I dunno. Quite honestly, I find it to be somewhat boring. I’m hoping it continues to grow on me with some listens. It certainly lacks any stand out tracks to me, whereas Fire/Water has Firebreather, The Messenger, Lost Continent, Night Diving. I know some consider Daedalus to be perhaps the strongest track from the entire AI, but I was a bit disappointed — I would say Firebreather is the best off AI. Daedalus might have been overhyped for me. Certainly one of the better tracks, but my favorite is A Song for Milly.
And just Air in general got overhyped for me. I kept reading it was the best index so I guess I just expected more. That said, I can see it growing on me to a 3.5 or so. The Earth Isn’t Humming was def the best off Earth.

For me:
Water > Fire > Air > Earth
Water and Fire are pretty much neck and neck for me.

^ I think that's the exact ranking most would give it, switching Fire and Water based on that person's personal preference. Everyone knows Air and Earth are third and fourth though. If you don't like this very much, I think you might struggle with Beggars and M/M, to be honest. They have more energy but definitely follow the foundations laid by Air.

Interesting. I’ll let you know man. I did give this another spin last night and liked it a bit more. Probably 3.5 now. Growing on me a little.
