Voivod, I'm sure that had everything to do with their new release. And when I say recognition they deserve, I mean on the grand scale. They've definitely picked it up on this site for sure though.

During my time in Sputnik, I've realized that sometimes a really good new album is mandatory condition for people unaware of a band to "see" its back catalogue and investigate. And when some parts of that back catalogue are considered as classics by those already in the know, then it's just a matter of time for recognition to pick up.

In the '90s, it was very difficult to get (let alone listen...) their albums, that's why PW didn't get traction at that time, despite some decent press coverage. This album was part of a Metal Hammer Hellas issue in the late '90s, and it was a huge deal, because in Hellas, few had seen A Social Grace in physical form.

My only excuse: too much good music, increasingly little time.

Agreed Voivod, I'm an old timer and remember those times well. You either had to buy a physical copy of an album, or, copy it to a cassette if you knew someone that had it.

We have a tremendous luxury today of streaming and downloading entire discographies for a small fraction of the cost, and in most cases, free of charge haha....

Listening to or being familiar with 2000+ albums back then was virtually impossible.

Yup, back when Metal Hammer used to give great albums. I remember seeing the cover art of this one and along with the band name, I thought that it would be nearly impossible to get into. Little did I know.
