Yes, it is a Sputnik rule that you can only give so many 5's in a short period of time... Actually, it probably should be.

Yeah; I have 8 'classic' albums, so don't really want to give anymore.

I was fortunatly elite enough to have listened to Rise Against since the RPM days (that would make me 16 I believe), as well as getting this album signed by the band themselves at the 2004 Warped Tour (after my barney doll I brought was thrown on stage). This album is fucking fantastic even after the numerous spins I gave it over the years.

This album is the worst of the three Rise Against albuns I know.

Lack of standout tracks: there's not a single song that I can say "OMFG this one's great!"

The themes, though they're decent, are expressed through exaggerated lyrics that can make someone think that this is emo shit...

All in all, everything that a band like Rise Against, which I like so much, shouldn't suffer from.

Paper Wings is my favorite here.

1. Learn what emo means.

2. What the heck are you talking about?

"I actually wish I was onto this album when it was released too. I only discovered it after back-tracking from Sufferer."

Ninjuice:

You're right. I was talking about 'Worth Dying For' which is obviously not in this album. I'm sorry.

Still I find the voice in 'Give It All' a little exaggerated, but maybe it's just me.

I disagree. While 'Paper Wings' is a good song, it can't be compared with the great songs of "The

Sufferer & The Witness". Or none of the ones you mentioned for that matter.

You're fucking kidding me, right? This album is angrier, stronger, catchier...it's their best album, and certainly better than Sufferer.

I can see where DarkShowstopper is coming from, although I don't agree with the extent of the argument. This album is not as immediate as 'Sufferer', but does reveal itself well enough as a collection of songs. Obviously, see my recommended tracks for my favorites.

Come on DavID, I'll give you angrier. Stronger is up to the individual... But there is no way it is catchier that Sufferer.
