I wonder if members of Gay-Viking bands go around plunging the horns on their uber-masculine helmets into the but-tocks of fellow bandmembers. Or, do they just plunge their members into fellow members. Anyway, dressing up like a Viking when you live in the 21st century is pretty, urm, gay, I think. No?

Back on topic, this album was given a fair shake by me and the final verdict is that this is way weak stuff. My conclusion bears no reflection on the overall quality of the music of Judas Priest. The band has delivered enough quality material over the years to assure themselves a chair in the throne room. I just think that this project was too contrived to begin with, and whenever you force something it's gunna sound rather mechanical and uninspired. They should just release that other album's worth of material recorded alongside 'AOR' and then bow out gracefully.

Everyone goes home a winner.

What could possibly be the hold up? I still am unable to log onto the forums and post messages. It's a week later and I still get the same message when I hit the 'post reply' button.

moltenlava, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

This question is for any Moderator or Administrator.

I know that there has to be at least one here.

I would like to know why I am unable to post comments in any of the forums? I am permitted to post comments here in the reviews sections, as well as being able to write the reviews themselves, yet I am still prohibited from doing anything in the forums. Can I please get an answer?

I had a massive revelation while listening to this album again last night. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'm ga-ga over this thing now. Well, I actually 'do' know what caused a major part of the change. It was a fundamental change in perspective on my part. I just wrote something on it. More like an essay than a full review. Worth reading though, if you're a fan of JP, or Progressive Rock.

I just have two words for everyone here, including the guy that makes the review. Fuck off, serously, fuck off. Its ok to criticize an album, but to criticize a band itself and saying such a great band admired by many is nothing ("and that you dont know why are they the metal gods) its just plain insulting. Im sorry, I thought a review had to be objective and unbiased, but you do the opposite. An to the people around here, WTF if you dont like Judas Priest ok, but have a little respect, and dont walk here talking shit about a band and finally saying "never like this band". If you never liked this band, I doubt you will like them now, so all your opinions are also biased. Sorry if I offended anyone but seriously show some respect at least.

Progressive/Symphonic masterpiece. Seems a lot of work went into this. Lame, lame review though and incredibly biased and judging for what other artists/bands the reviewer listens to...well, let's just say this whole thing leaves something to be desired, coupled with comments from what seems to be lots of children

Obviously the album has a few flaws but some people exaggerate and it's full of umm...nerd/internet "metalheads" and other idiots who rely on an album review from some website, "the music press" or on someone with a different "view" to buy an album. Also don't insult Priest's legacy just because they made an album "YOU" don't like, if you don't like it that's fine and make a review stating "why" exactly it you don't like it AND DON'T BE BIASED!.

I thought the album was amazing from a progressive/symphonic metal point of view with very good lyrics about the famous prophet, I think every song sets the feeling for what it's talking about in the lyrics. Also, anybody who prefers electronic mainstream drivel/garbage/music for the mentally challenged (rap, hip-hop, etc etc...) has to have some kind of brain damage. I understand music diversity (I even listen to classical music and some others styles of music) but there's a thing called "quality" music.

I could go on and on and I don't think I'm making my point quite clear here but it doesn't matter, I think the only person here who put it right would be akron88 and there could be more people but I didn't read ALL the comments so yeah.

And yeah, I just made an account to state this (I found this on a random search unrelated to any "review" for Nostradamus) so what?

Nostradamus is NOT a masterpiece. Just JP trying to keep itself alive. And barely do (If it weren't for Persecution, I'd dump the album)

Its not that bad. Its just not what Judas Priest fans want out of a Judas Priest record. I respect their integrity for this album, but it's still very inconsistent, and bloated. Title track smokes, though.

"Nostradamus is NOT a masterpiece. Just JP trying to keep itself alive. And barely do..."

Maybe it's not a "masterpiece", but it's obviously NOT just "JP trying to keep itself alive". If that were all they were trying to do, then they would have released another album along the lines of Angel of Retribution - something that would have been reflexively liked by all of their core fans. They were exploring relatively new musical terrain (for them), which is not what you do when you're just trying to keep alive.

Give them credit for continuing to grow artistically, even if you don't care for the results.
